Terminal Locations: The NORTHWEST SEAPLANES/FRIDAY HARBOR SEAPLANES TERMINAL is conveniently located within the heart of the Seattle metropolitan area, for easy access to your San Juan Islands tour from Seattle, Seattle city tour or seaplane charter. We’re near the intersection of Interstate 5 and Interstate 405, in Renton Washington, on the northwest corner of the Renton Municipal Airport – just minutes from the Eastside and the Seattle Tacoma International Airport.

Passenger Terminal: Our terminal features a comfortable lounge area for passengers. Soda, and bottled water are available for sale before your San Juan Islands tour from Seattle.
Parking: There is plenty of free short term and long term parking available directly adjacent to our terminal.
Check-In Time – Renton: Please be at our terminal in Renton 30 minutes prior to departure or at least 20 minutes prior to your flight with us.
Check-In Time – Seaplane Destinations: Please be at the departure dock at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Due to weather and routing, your aircraft may arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure or as late as 30 minutes after the scheduled departure time.
Baggage: Please limit your baggage (for scheduled flights) to two soft-sided pieces of luggage. Total weight of all bags should not exceed 30 pounds per person. Baggage in excess of this amount will be checked at an additional charge of $2 per pound, $25 minimum, only on a space available basis.
Pets: We generally allow pets on board our aircraft. Dogs weighing over 40 lbs will be charged a $40 one way fee. The pilot has the discretion to deny any pet from boarding if seen as a safety issue. Since our aircraft are small, pet crates are not allowed. If your dog is “lap dog”, soft sided pet carriers are welcome for small dogs and cats. Cats are allowed as well but may be denied boarding on scheduled flights if another passenger traveling is allergic to cats. We will transport the cat on the next available flight if necessary.
Ground Transfers: Ground transportation between our terminal in Renton and Sea-Tac International Airport is available for $16 per person. If you require transportation to or from Sea-Tac, please let us know in advance at the time of your booking or by selecting the extra option for the shuttle. The service is a shuttle which means that it waits for everybody traveling to Sea-Tac before departing. If you require immediate transportation to Sea-Tac on your arrival, please let our staff know and they can schedule a taxi for immediate service at your own expense.Our shuttle pickup and drop off location is at Door 02 at the Sea-Tac Airport.
Taxi service from Sea-Tac to our terminal in Renton is available at Level 3 in the parking garage. An average cab fare from Sea-Tac to Renton is about $30. Uber is also available from Sea-Tac! Uber is located in the same location.
Hotel Accommodations locally: Our sister company, Northwest Seaplanes, has a special rate agreement with the Radisson by SeaTac and the Hyatt Regency. Both hotels offer a reduced room rate and the Red Lion provides shuttle service between Sea-Tac and the hotel and between the hotel and our terminal. For dining options, the Yankee Grill & Bar is located in the Red Lion hotel and the Water’s Table in located in the Hyatt Regency.
Safety: Safety is our primary concern. Since our establishment in 1988, we have earned an impeccable safety record. Scheduled flight departure and duration times are based on expected conditions. Weather and other factors may affect our floatplane operations and therefore departure / arrival times cannot be guaranteed.
Confirmation: Your email confirmation serves as your confirmation for your flight. You will receive an email reminder prior to your flight with us as a final confirmation.
Changes to your Reservation Dates: Unforeseen changes in your travel plans can occur and we will do our best to accommodate them. During our peak season, space is very limited and changes in dates of travel may not be possible. A last minute change of travel may be considered cancelling and the applicable cancellation penalties below will apply.
Cancellations – Scheduled flights/tours – Your ticket is non-refundable. By adding the refundable ticket fee, your ticket will be fully refundable (less the fee per person one way) up to 48 hours advance notice of your flight. If you do not choose this option, you may cancel your flight reservation up to 48 hours prior to your flight and your ticket will be valid for up to one year as open credit. Any cancellations within 48 hours prior to the flight are not entitled to a refund or credit.
Charter flights – Personal Charter flights are subject to a 5% cancellation fee with better than 48 hours notice. Cancellations within less than 48 hours notice are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. No-show charter flights will not be entitled to a refund.
Weather Cancellations: All flight cancellations due to weather are entitled to a full refund.
Payments: Friday Harbor Seaplanes accepts cash, debit or credit using Visa or MasterCard (U.S. Dollars only please). Seat fares require payment in full at the time of the reservation to guarantee a seat for your San Juan Islands tour from Seattle. Charter flights require a 50% deposit and the balance due within 7 days of the flight.
